The oldest building in the area and a
historic landmark, The Peninsula Inn & Spa underwent extensive renovation over a
two-year period and began operating in late 2002. Fashioned in an elegant British Colonial decor,
The Peninsula brings the exotic flare of Bali to its interior with
timeless designs and classic styling of the tropics.
Village artisans of
Indonesia used age-old techniques to hand-carve the traditional furniture
used throughout the Inn. Each piece is made from sturdy kiln-dried mindi,
a plantation-grown hardwood similar to oak. Our 11 uniquely appointed guestrooms on the second and third floors
feature these authentic furnishings.
The first floor is home to three elegant amenities that highlight the
Peninsula's rare beauty. Seven Springs Spa, with its spacious treatment
rooms and relaxing environs, offers spa services to guests of the inn at
reduced prices. A fine dining restaurant, Six Tables, offers a six-course
dinner five days a week and is available by reservation only. A full-service bar,
The Palm Lounge, opens daily at 5 PM
offering an upscale selection of
alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
About the Area
| The Peninsula is the anchor property in the City of Gulfport’s Waterfront Historic District, an eclectic mix of art galleries, shops and
restaurants, all within easy walking distance. It's easy to see why Gulfport is quickly becoming known as the
"New Key West." |

 |
An alternative to the congested venues of Bay Walk in neighboring St. Petersburg and Ybor City across the bay in Tampa,
Gulfport offers an "old-Florida" quaintness that attracts
visitors from near and far.
On Beach Boulevard, the main drag through the business district,
artists and artisans have set up shop. |
| Walk just two blocks south from The Peninsula and you
will be standing on Gulfport Beach looking onto Boca Ciega Bay,
which empties into the awesome Gulf of Mexico. St. Pete Beach,
Treasure Island, Madiera Beach and a multitude of beautiful sandy
beaches on the Gulf are just 10 minutes away by car. As ranked by
the National Geographic Traveler magazine, two of America's
top five beaches--Fort DeSoto Park and Caladesi Island--are only a
short 30-minute drive. |

Gulfport sparkles the brightest during the
popular "ArtWalks" held the first Friday and third Saturday of
every month from 6-10 PM. Beach Boulevard is filled with people
exploring the business district which offers extended hours,
entertainment and special
sales. |
